A&O Shearman played a key role in a significant deal: DSBJ's acquisition of GMD Group, along with the restructuring of its financial debt. This is a big move! Let's dive into the details.
Published on November 6, 2025, this deal saw A&O Shearman advising DSBJ PTE. LTD., a subsidiary of Suzhou Dongshan Precision Manufacturing Co., Ltd (DSBJ). DSBJ is a major player in the industry, listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange. They acquired Groupe Mécanique Découpage (GMD), a prominent French automotive supplier with operations in France and internationally. This acquisition is part of DSBJ's strategy to expand its activities in Europe.
The acquisition involved a complex restructuring of GMD's financial debt. The shareholders of GMD and DSBJ, a leading manufacturer of components for the electronics, telecommunications, and automotive sectors, worked together to make this happen.
The agreement, which included acquiring all of GMD's share capital and restructuring its bank and bond debts, was finalized on Wednesday, October 30, 2025, after being approved by the Nanterre Economic Activities Court.
