Imagine waking up on a Wednesday morning, ready for your day, only to find your tap has run dry! That's the reality for many Hyderabad residents on November 26th. The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) has announced a six-hour water supply disruption, scheduled between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM on that day.
This interruption is necessary for essential maintenance. The HMWSSB needs to work on the bulk feeders that supply uninterrupted electricity to the Krishna Phase 1, 2, and 3 pumping stations. Think of these feeders as the lifeblood of the water supply system, and they need a little TLC to keep things running smoothly.
So, who will be affected? A significant portion of Hyderabad will experience this temporary inconvenience. Here's a list of the areas where the water supply will be halted:
- Charminar
- Vinay Nagar
- Bhojagutta
- Red Hills
- Narayanaguda
- SR Nagar
- Maredpally
- Riyasat Nagar
- Kukatpally
- Saheb Nagar
- Hayathnagar
- Sainikpuri
- Uppal
- Hafeezpet
- Rajendranagar
- Manikonda
- Boduppal
- Meerpet
The HMWSSB advises all residents in these areas to use water sparingly during the disruption. It's a good reminder of how much we rely on this essential resource!
But here's where it gets controversial... Could this maintenance have been scheduled at a less disruptive time? Perhaps overnight?
