Sytsko's coaching philosophy is centered around instilling confidence in his players. "I'm trying to get the Kazakhstani handball players to believe in themselves and not be afraid of their opponents," he said. He recognizes the unique styles of play within the region, noting the speed and aggression of teams like Japan, China, and Korea.
In their upcoming matches at Germany/Netherlands 2025, Kazakhstan will face tough opponents, including Korea and Norway. The team has a history of close encounters with these powerhouses, with Korea taking clear wins in their previous meetings. However, Sytsko believes in the power of tactical adjustments and imposing their own style of play.
"We'll try to make some adjustments to the training process," Sytsko said. "The girls are receptive to my changes, and the key is to approach every match with confidence and respect for our opponents. We need to understand that they are human too, and that's when our tactical strategies will truly work."
As they prepare for their world championship appearance, Kazakhstan is also participating in the 2025 Islamic Solidarity Games in Saudi Arabia. This provides an excellent opportunity for the team to gain valuable experience and fine-tune their skills ahead of the main event.
The provisional squad for Germany/Netherlands 2025 includes 28 players, with three playing abroad in Greece, Azerbaijan, and North Macedonia.
