Samsung's Galaxy S26: A March Launch?
Get ready for a potential shake-up in the smartphone world! Samsung, a tech giant, is rumored to be pushing back the release of its highly anticipated Galaxy S26 series. But here's the twist: this could be the first time in five years that Samsung launches its flagship Galaxy S series in March.
According to ETNews, Samsung's Unpacked event for the Galaxy S26 series is scheduled for February 25, but the official launch in South Korea might not happen until the first week of March. So, what's causing this delay? It seems like a "sudden change in product composition" is to blame. Samsung had initially planned to launch an ultra-slim "Edge" model, but now, the "Plus" model is reportedly making a comeback.
"The delayed product planning has affected the launch timing," a Samsung official explained. With the devices still in the pre-mass production stage, the final schedule remains unconfirmed.
And here's where it gets controversial: Samsung is also expected to increase the price of the Galaxy S26 series due to rising component costs. Mobile processors and camera modules have seen price hikes of 12% and 8%, respectively, compared to last year.
In terms of specifications, Samsung is likely to continue its dual chipset strategy with the Galaxy S26 series. Some regions may get the new Exynos 2600 chipset, while global variants could be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.
Additionally, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is rumored to have a more rounded design and a redesigned camera island, with three lenses now housed in a pill-shaped module.
So, what do you think? Are you excited for the potential changes Samsung might bring with the Galaxy S26 series? Or do you prefer the traditional launch timeline? Let us know in the comments!
