Ever dreamed of wearing a Vera Wang gown, but thought it was out of reach? Hold that thought! Because Vera Wang and David's Bridal are teaming up to bring back some iconic styles from the past, making designer dreams a little more accessible.
Vera Wang, a name synonymous with breathtaking wedding gowns, is partnering with David's Bridal to relaunch a limited-edition collection of archival designs. Think of it as a 'best of' compilation from their previous collaboration in the early 2010s. This "White by Vera Wang" collection will feature 10 meticulously handcrafted dresses—five stunning options for brides and five equally elegant styles for bridesmaids. These aren't just any dresses; they're revived versions of popular and best-selling gowns from their original partnership. You'll find these exclusive pieces only on the David's Bridal website, promoted through social media, email newsletters, and other channels.
But here's where it gets interesting... This archival collection is more than just a nostalgic trip down memory lane. It's actually a sneak peek, a delicious appetizer, if you will, for the grand debut of Vera Wang Bride at David's Bridal in Spring 2026! This larger collection promises even more exquisite designs.
Vera Wang's journey in the bridal world began in 1990 in New York, and she's since dressed some of the biggest names in entertainment. From celebrity brides like Ariana Grande, Hailey Bieber, and Kim Kardashian, to red-carpet icons like Beyoncé Knowles Carter, Sydney Sweeney, and Zendaya, Wang's designs have graced countless memorable moments.
In a strategic move announced last September, David's Bridal Inc. and WHP Global (owners of the Vera Wang fashion brand) declared David's Bridal the global producer and retailer of the Vera Wang Bride collection. This encompasses a premium range of wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and, soon, even wedding invitations and stationery. This partnership is designed to create an expansive "Vera Wang Bride world," exclusively available at David's Bridal.
And this is the part most people miss... While Vera Wang had an exclusive licensing deal with David's Bridal for "White by Vera Wang" that ended in 2020 due to the pandemic, she then forged a 10-year partnership with Pronovias, a Barcelona-based company, for Vera Wang Bride in 2021. According to WHP Global, the Vera Wang Bride partnership with Pronovias will now transition to David’s Bridal. This means that dresses previously designed and distributed under the Pronovias partnership will now be available at David's Bridal, streamlining the Vera Wang Bride experience.
Due to the collection's use of heritage fabrics and cut-to-order production, these refreshed archival styles will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Each dress will be custom-made, with a limited run of up to 30 dresses per style and color.
These limited-run wedding dresses are available in sizes 0 to 22, with prices ranging from $1,699 for a sleek crepe gown with a modern high neckline to $2,299 for a stunning fit-and-flare gown with a dramatic skirt. The bridesmaid dresses come in five elegant colors – Blush, Ebony, Midnight, Wine, and Forest – and are also available in sizes 0 to 22. Each of the five bridesmaid styles retails for $229.95 and features flattering silhouettes like a plunging V-neckline with a defined waistband and a high slit detail.
To celebrate the launch of this highly anticipated archival collection, David's Bridal is hosting a brunch and fashion presentation at the Café Carlyle [Nov. 6]. This event will showcase the archival pieces, as well as exclusive designs from David's Spring 2026 bridal collection, including new looks from Viola Chan Couture, archival pieces from Vera Wang Bride, and the brand's exciting expansion into Indian bridalwear with KYNAH.
Now, here's a thought: Is bringing back vintage designs a brilliant way to offer accessible luxury, or does it dilute the exclusivity that Vera Wang is known for? Does this collaboration make high-end fashion more attainable, or does it simply capitalize on nostalgia? What do you think? Share your opinions in the comments below!
