Marvel enthusiasts, brace yourselves for a disappointment: it seems that we won't be seeing Wolverine at tomorrow's PlayStation State of Play event.
When Sony initially announced that a State of Play would take place on February 12th, they mentioned the show would span over an hour and feature "news, gameplay updates, and announcements." Naturally, many fans speculated (and hoped) that this lengthy presentation would finally showcase Insomniac’s Wolverine game, which was originally hinted at back in 2021 during a PlayStation Showcase.
However, recent communications from Insomniac have dashed those hopes. In response to a fan inquiry about when more details regarding Logan and his adventures would emerge, the studio succinctly tweeted, "Spring 2026."
Unfortunately, February doesn’t fit the bill for the spring season (and I find myself gazing out the window at yet another dreary, gray day, wondering when the sun will break through). Spring officially begins at the end of March, so unless Insomniac is leading us on, it seems highly unlikely that Wolverine will make an appearance during tomorrow's event.
On a brighter note, there may be a chance to glimpse the next project from Sony Santa Monica. An industry insider, known as Shinobi602, hinted that it wouldn’t be surprising to see something from the team given the anticipated release timeframe. However, they did clarify, "this isn’t a confirmation it'll be there lol."
Luckily, we won’t have to wait long to discover what surprises Sony has in store, with the State of Play set to commence at 10 PM UK time. What are you hoping to catch a glimpse of during the presentation?
